9/27 Dauphin Island Boat Excursion/Lab
The Dauphin Island Sea lab touch lab, Estuarium, Boat trip Adventure for September 27th. 9:30am. This trip has a lot of moving parts and restrictions so PLEASE READ ALL INFO before you sign up.

~The Boat Excursion (ages 9 & up): Students will learn about the biology, ecology, and diversity of this incredible ecosystem by trawling to collect and identify animals that inhabit Alabama’s coastal waters. Students will also have the opportunity to use scientific equipment to observe plankton and to measure various physical parameters of the water while at sea. **There is a form that MUST BE NOTARIZED for this!

Only 35 spots TOTAL
(Trying to keep this to no more than 5 adults to leave plenty of spaces for kids. If we don’t get a ton of kids signed up I will open the spots for sidelined parents. Keep that in mind when answering that question!)
~Marine Animal Touch Lab (4-8): The program includes an entertaining and informative discussion accompanied by interesting facts and anecdotes. After introducing such animals as the sponge, jellyfish, sea star, clam, snail, crab, shark, octopus, and more, the Marine Educator arranges specimens for the students to touch, hold and examine. MUST WEAR MASK
~Estuarium (all ages): an exciting educational public aquarium highlighting the four key habitats of coastal Alabama: the Mobile Tensaw River Delta, Mobile Bay, the Barrier Islands and the Northern Gulf of Mexico. MUST WEAR MASK
***Basic Itinerary:

Boat Excursion kids leave dock

Touch Lab Kids head into Estuarium
11:30am
Touch Lab Kids break for snack/lunch (this is flexible)
12pm
Boat comes back. Everyone meets up. Lunch.
1pm
Everyone goes to Estuarium

Touch Lab $2 per child
Estuarium $4.50 (everyone)
Ages 5 and under are FREE
