Join Galveston Bay Foundation’s Sasha Francis on a bird walk through some of Galveston Bay’s protected wetlands! Sweetwater Preserve provides habitat for migratory waterfowl and a diverse group of wading birds.
Sasha will be heading out to Sweetwater Preserve early in the morning and recording this bird walk. We will then have a Facebook Live Watch Party on the

Houston Audubon

Facebook page, where Sasha and Houston Audubon staff will be on to answer your questions!

Can’t make the watch party? Don’t worry – we will be sharing a link to the video for you to watch anytime!
Sasha Francis is a Community Engagement Coordinator with the Galveston Bay Foundation. In her role, she shares the Galveston Bay Report Card with the Houston-Galveston area community and organizes events that connect the community to Galveston Bay. Sasha has a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science & Wildlife Conservation and worked as a zookeeper for 12 years, so she is always happy to talk about animals! She worked with beluga whales, sea lions, penguins, sloths, and tigers to name a few favorites. In the past year, she has focused on learning about native plant species, especially birds around the Bay. She is excited to show you the birds that call Galveston Bay Foundation’s Sweetwater Preserve home in honor of Bird Week
