Feb 18th we will head to Historic Pensacola! $4 per person (Siblings three years and younger are free). Field trip starts promptly at 10am, please arrive 15-20 minutes early to get checked in and separated into groups.

5th grade and under will tour Colonial Times:
✔Colonial Artifact Discovery: Students will be able to get up close and personal with several items that relate to life in the Colonial period, drawing conclusions about life in early Pensacola and how it differs from today.
✔Colonial Survival: Learn what it meant to settle on the West Florida frontier -food, water, and shelter are essential! Students will learn colonial construction methods and receive a fire-starting and musket demonstration.
✔Colonial Occupations: What’s a settler to do? Learn more about colonial community and the different types of people who created it. This selection also includes a focus on candle-dipping. Participants will have the opportunity to take home their own Village made candle!

6th -12 Victorian Era:
Post-Civil War Pensacola evolved from a frontier town to an established city. The progression of technological innovation and urbanization during this period was evident in the changing landscape of downtown and the home. Pensacola transitioned into the Twentieth Century.
Students will learn about the advancements in Victorian Pensacola then and be able to compare it to modern day Pensacola. Believe it or not, barber shops did more than just cut hair. Students will learn from uniformed (costumed) guides!
This tour really sounds JUST as neat as the one for the younger kids but for some reason they do not have a great write up on it! I will be providing you with a 23 page resource/study guide they provided to really boost the learning value in this trip!
